Guido Ruggeri completed his degrees in Classical music composition and in Jazz Music at the Conservatory of Music “A. Casella” in L’Aquila and in Concert Band Instrumentation at the Conservatory of Music “S. Cecilia” in Rome. He also studied Piano and Electronic music and he has a specialization in Music and Show at the “Roma Tre” University.

He is currently a university teacher of Harmony at the State Conservatory.

 

As a composer of music for drama he has worked for over 400 shows on stage, in the most important Italian theatres, collaborating with some of the most famous actors and directors. He won the 1st award in the International Composition Competition "Gramatio Metallo" at Bisaccia (Av) with the song "Il Castello di Bisaccia" for piano, violin and cello published by the Sonzogno music publishing (2012) and it also performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, one of the most important concert halls in the world.

He has composed music for the Rai (Italian national broadcast company) and the Vatican Radio, and his works have performed by prestigious orchestras and concert bands such as Italian Philharmonic Orchestra, Sanremo Symphony Orchestra, The musicians of Rome, Italian Army Band, Italian Navy Band and Italian Police Fanfare in important places such as the Teatro dal Verme in Milano, Opera house of Sanremo Casinò, International Opera Festival of Miskolc (Hungary), Quirinale Palace in Rome and the International Festival of the Two Worlds in Spoleto.

In 2022 his composition “Hymn to Celestine V” is performed on the opening of the Holy Door of the Basilica “S. Maria in Collemaggio” in the city of L’Aquila (Italy) presided by PAPA FRANCESCO and broadcast on International television.
